MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621055424 A) filed by Mr. Siddesh Savant on April 30, 2026, for “a Test Kit For On-Site Detection Of Aldehyde Impurities In Diesel Exhaust Fluid (def)”.

Inventor includes Mr. Siddesh Savant.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT A TEST KIT FOR ON-SITE DETECTION OF ALDEHYDE IMPURITIES IN DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID (DEF) The present invention relates to a test kit for on-site quality assessment of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) for detecting aldehyde impurities. The invention comprises a prefilled reaction vial containing a reagent composition including an inorganic acetate and a diketone compound, a sample handling means, a heating unit, and a detection means for indicating the presence of aldehyde through a colorimetric response. The invention further provides a method for detecting aldehyde impurities based on a heat-assisted chemical reaction resulting in a visible colour change, enabling rapid, reliable, and field-deployable assessment of DEF quality.
