MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611090614 A) filed by Dit University on July 25, 2026, for “a Green-Synthesized Bimetallic Nanoparticle Composition Comprising Silver-Copper Bimetallic Nanoparticles”.

Inventors include Mr. Divyanshu Kumar; Ms. Saumya Rastogi; Dr. Chetan Ram; and Mr. Shubham Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a green-synthesized silver-copper bimetallic nanoparticle composition and a process for preparing the same using a hydroethanolic extract of Phyllanthus niruri. The process comprises preparing a plant extract, mixing silver nitrate and copper sulphate precursor solutions, adding the plant extract dropwise under continuous stirring, heating the reaction mixture at 60°C to 70°C, followed by centrifugation, washing and drying to obtain silver-copper bimetallic nanoparticles. The phytoconstituents present in the Phyllanthus niruri extract act as reducing and stabilizing agents during nanoparticle formation. The obtained nanoparticles are characterized by nanoscale morphology, surface-bound phytochemical functional groups, and elemental silver-copper composition. The invention provides an eco-friendly, biocompatible and chemical-free route for producing plant-mediated bimetallic nanoparticles suitable for pharmaceutical, biomedical and nanomedicine-related applications.
