MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611090612 A) filed by Dit University on July 25, 2026, for “a Doravirine Composition And Process Of Preparing The Same”.
Inventors include Garima Varshney; Dr Giriraj T Kulkarni; Dr Neeraj Kumar Sethiya; Dr Mandeep Kumar Arora; and Dr Ashok Behera.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Doravirine composition comprising Doravirine and tamarind seed polysaccharide in a 1:1 weight ratio. Doravirine is crystallized from a dimethyl sulfoxide solution into an aqueous phase containing the tamarind seed polysaccharide, resulting in polysaccharide-associated Doravirine particles with modified solid-state characteristics. The tamarind seed polysaccharide is obtained from Tamarindus indica seeds by aqueous extraction and ethanol precipitation. The disclosure further provides a solvent–antisolvent crystallization process involving dropwise addition of a Doravirine solution into a polysaccharide-containing aqueous phase, followed by particle recovery and drying. The process produces a modified Doravirine composition without the use of synthetic crystal-modifying polymers. Fig 1 to 5.
