Abstract: The present invention provides a digital communication system (100), comprising a power rail voltage unit (105) configured to provide a supply voltage selected from voltage levels, said transmitter circuit (106) is configured to receive a low voltage digital signal from a digital controller and to level shift the low voltage digital signal to a voltage level corresponding to the supply voltage, a high-voltage switching element (107) configured to buffer and scale the low-voltage digital signal to the supply-rail voltage, a communication line (108) for transmitting the real-dependent voltage signal from a master controller (101) to slave unit (102) over a cable and the communication signal utilizes a full scale of the power rail voltage unit (105) for providing noise immunity and receiver circuit (109) configured to compare the received communication signal with a reference voltage corresponding to approximately half of the supply voltage to reconstruct the original digital signal.
