MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611087425 A) filed by Krishna Institute Of Engineering & Technology Kiet-School Of Pharmacy on July 16, 2026, for “a Computational Pharmacology-Based Identification Of Wound-Healing Bioactives And A Method Thereof”.

Inventors include Utkarsh Tiwari; Swasti Sharma; and Dr. Shardendu Kr. Mishra.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a computational pharmacology-based process for identification of wound-healing bioactive compounds derived from Azadirachta indica and a method thereof. The process comprises collection of neem-derived phytochemicals, prediction of molecular targets, identification of wound-healing-related genes, construction of compound-target and protein-protein interaction networks, pathway enrichment analysis, and molecular docking validation. The invention integrates network pharmacology, molecular docking, and biological pathway analysis to identify bioactive compounds exhibiting antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, angiogenic, collagen-promoting, and tissue-regenerative activity associated with wound healing. Molecular docking studies involving protein targets including AKT1, MAPK, and VEGF validate therapeutic interactions associated with the identified phytochemicals.
