MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641086437 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on July 15, 2026, for “a Ca-Arwboarne Microservice Execution Framework For Reducing Cloud Carbon Emis Sions”.

Inventors include A Anny Leema; P Balakrishnan; Stuti Iyer; and Shrika Dayal.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a carbon-aware microservice execution framework and method to reduce cloud computing carbon emissions. The system predicts future carbon intensity and dynamically defers SLA-constrained microservice workloads to lower- carbon time intervals while ensuring service continuity. It executes workloads via carbon-aware and baseline instances, logs execution-level emissions, aggregates these into interval-based summaries, and generates comparative sustainability metrics. This approach enables optimized workload scheduling for minimal carbon impact and transparent evaluation against conventional execution. Fig 1 to 15
